Today in Turčianske Teplice a discussion forum – Export Club on the topic of Central Asia was held, organized by EXIMBANKA SR in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic (MFA SR). The aim of the event was to provide Slovak companies with an overview of opportunities for their expansion into Central Asian territories.
In Izmir, Turkey, the official opening of a modern aluminium plant of a Slovak company took place with the participation of a delegation from Slovakia led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Rastislav Chovanec and the Director General of Eximbank Rastislav Podhorc. Turkey, with its strategic location, is an important trading partner and regional hub between Europe and Asia. Eximbanka’s banking activities have supported Slovak exports to Turkey in the amount of EUR 155.5 million since 2010.
For the second time, Eximbanka is giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to become Exporter of the Year 2024 in the TREND TOP ranking. The award is open to Slovak companies whose export activities contribute to the improvement of the business environment and help build Slovakia’s reputation abroad. Exporters can register for the Exporter of the Year 2024 category until 31 July 2024.
Vláda SR na svojom zasadnutí dňa 12. júna 2024 schválila vklad štátnych finančných aktív vo výške 250 mil. eur do základného imania EXIMBANKY SR a na posilnenie fondu na záruky a fondu na krytie neobchodovateľných rizík prostriedkami zo zníženia jej základného imania. Kapitálové posilnenie EXIMBANKY SR je v súlade s ambíciou rastu jej obchodnej a majetkovej angažovanosti.
Opportunities to involve Slovak entrepreneurs in development projects were the topic of today’s international EU Global Gateway event, which took place in Bratislava with the participation of Maroš Šefčovič, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Denisa Saková, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Rastislav Podhorc, CEO and Member of the Board of Eximbank, experts from international and national institutions and dozens of representatives of the business sector. The EU’s Global Gateway strategy aims to mobilise more than €300 billion of investment through a “Team Europe” approach, bringing together EU institutions, Member States and their financial and development institutions, including Slovakia.
Eximbanka, as the only public export promotion institution, was today part of the top-level discussions on creating a positive and recognizable reputation of the country at the International Masterclass COMPETITIVE IDENTITY. Experts from different countries and representatives of public and commercial institutions agreed that it is necessary and indispensable to strengthen the strategic management of the country’s image in order to anchor Slovakia as an attractive brand in the international arena, with a clear and long-term strategy for its position.

The annual meeting of the V4 Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) took place in Prague this week. The event under the auspices of the Czech Presidency was attended by the Czech Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP), the Czech Export Bank (CEB), the Polish export credit agency KUKE, the Hungarian EXIMBANK and the Slovak EXIMBANKA SR. The aim of the meeting was to coordinate positions on issues of common interest in international forums, for example in the field of energy or financial rules of state support for exports, strengthening mutual cooperation, or sharing experiences and examples of good practice.
