Betamont has been operating in Slovakia for more than 30 years. It focuses on the development and integration of proprietary intelligent technologies for road and rail transport. In the railway sector, it focuses mainly on signalling technology, while in road transport its systems fulfil mainly a notification and control function.
In Slovakia, it has implemented for the National Motorway Company a system of electronic control of number plates, motorway stickers, speed, but also traffic flow and possible congestion of trucks that damage roads.
Its technologies have also been successful in foreign markets. In the past, it exported mainly to the UK, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Poland, but today its strongest markets are Asia and countries such as Georgia, which also include Azerbaijan, where it has its own offices. It is also active in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Exports account for around a third of its revenues.
The company’s typical clientele consists mainly of state transport authorities. The company also cooperates with private construction companies and in the future plans to expand its portfolio to include cooperation with municipalities. The company employs approximately 120 people in its offices in Košice, Žilina and Zvolen, ten percent of whom work in research and development.
