Today, 27 October 2025, the regular annual meeting of the Board of Eximbank(Ing.Rastislav Podhorec, MBA, Milan Horvath, Pavol Tavač, Igor Barát) with representatives of the Board of Directors of VUB took place.
On behalf of VÚB banka the meeting was attended by:
Jozef Kausich, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors (CEO, Chairman BoD)
Viceník Andrej, Member of the Board of Directors and Senior Director for Corporate Banking
Branislav Kováčik, Member of the Board of Directors and Senior Director of Risk Management
Peter Čižmárik, Director of Global Transaction Banking – Sales Support
The main topic of the meeting was the regular annual evaluation of the cooperation and the discussion on the possibilities of its further development.
The meeting discussed:
– Cooperation in financing export contracts with commercial and political risk insurance, especially in risky territories. Discussions focused on insurance of buyer credits, investment credits and supplier credits.
– Specific business cases from Eximbanka’s pipeline in territories such as Senegal, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and other countries.
The participating parties agreed on concrete steps aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation as well as at supporting Slovak exporters in their foreign activities.
As an export credit agency, Eximbanka plays an irreplaceable role in the process of export financing. Its products contribute to the elimination of commercial and political risks, thereby increasing the willingness of commercial banks to finance trades and transactions even to riskier territories.
In the context of the expected stagnation of domestic demand, it is crucial for Slovak companies to focus on new export opportunities abroad. These new markets can compensate for potential performance shortfalls in the domestic market, and Eximbanka can use its instruments to significantly mitigate the risks associated with their entry into these markets.
