On 30 September 2025, the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Nairobi organised a free webinar
The webinar provided practical information on business opportunities in one of Africa’s most dynamic regions, offering potential in the areas of infrastructure, energy, agriculture, healthcare and digital solutions.
The opening speeches were delivered by H.E. Maroš Mitrík, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Nairobi and Samuel Čellár, Economic Diplomat. Subsequently, Matúš Šársky, Director of the International Relations Department of Eximbanka, presented the possibilities of financial support for export activities of Slovak companies in Africa. This was followed by thematic blocks dedicated to individual countries of the region:
KENYA
Valerie Rugene from the Embassy of Kenya in Vienna, João Ramos from EuroCham Kenya and James Mureu from the Kenya Private Sector Alliance(KEPSA) presented the current opportunities in the Kenyan market and key recommendations for establishing business partnerships.
RWANDA
Divine Nakanyange of the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Johanna Sandberg of the European Business Chamber of Rwanda (EBCR) – presented the reasons why Rwanda is considered one of the most accessible destinations for foreign investors in Africa.
UGANDA
Collins Agaba from the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) and Rita Mugula from Investment Promotion and Business Development explained the specifics of the Ugandan market and areas where Slovak companies can find demand for their products and services.
Each thematic session was followed by a discussion, during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions directly to representatives of the institutions from the countries concerned.
