Yesterday, Eximbanka’s CEO Rastislav Podhorec, MBA, together with Deputy CEO Igor Barát and Director of International Relations Matúš Šársky attended the ENEF – European Nuclear Energy Forum, the 18th edition of the European energy event, which this year took place in Bratislava.
Eximbanka has been there – both in panel discussions and in bilateral negotiations with key partners in the energy sector.
Slovakia has a unique capability – as a small country we can cover the entire nuclear resource cycle through Slovak companies: from research, through construction, to decommissioning and spent fuel storage.
This expertise is a value we can proudly export to the world – and Eximbanka is ready to support these activities.
In his speech, Rastislav Podhorec, MBA, CEO of Eximbanka, presented the unique catalytic role of Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), which reduce the risks of nuclear projects (including SMR/AMR) and motivate private capital to get involved, thus contributing to more efficient financing and development of the sector.
But expanding nuclear capacity in the EU brings complex challenges – from financing, to training the next generation of nuclear engineers, to modernising regulatory processes.
Representatives of Eximbanka attended several meetings with Slovak nuclear energy companies as well as bilateral meetings with institutional partners, including Keisuke Sadamori, IEA Director for Energy Markets and Security and Jan Pánek, Director of the EU Commission’s Directorate General for Energy (DG ENERG).
Eximbanka remains an active partner in issues key to a sustainable, stable and low-emission energy future for Slovakia and Europe.
