Slovak companies are increasingly proving that their ambitions do not end at the borders of Europe. On the contrary – many of them are looking for new opportunities in markets that are still less discovered for Slovak exports, but offer huge potential.
During a working trip to India, Eximbanka’s CEO Rastislav Podhorec and his Deputy Igor Barát visited a successful local enterprise, which is co-operated by a Slovak exporter. The company, which focuses on the production of a wide range of agricultural equipment, is a prime example of an investment where not only products, but also capital, technological solutions and Slovak know-how are exported to the world.
Export projects are important not only for the companies themselves, but also for the Slovak economy as a whole. Expanding activities into new territories helps to diversify Slovak exports, increase their resilience and at the same time strengthens the international presence of Slovak companies.
Success stories of Slovak entrepreneurs abroad prove that Slovak know-how can stand up to global competition. Thanks to them, today we can discover a piece of Slovakia even in countries that are geographically and culturally more distant for us.
Promotion of Slovak investments abroad
Proper financing and risk management also play an important role in the implementation of investment projects abroad. Eximbanka therefore offers Slovak companies tools that help them safely enter new markets and implement projects even in more remote or less explored territories.
One of them is a loan for investment abroad, which allows Slovak companies to finance the establishment of a subsidiary, a joint venture with a local partner or, for example, the acquisition of an existing company in the target country.
An important part of the support is also political risk insurance, which protects Slovak investors or their financing commercial banks against unpredictable events in the country of investment – for example, in the event of political decisions or other non-commercial risks that could negatively affect the project’s return.
The combination of financing and insurance protection thus enables Slovak companies to implement their ambitious projects also in dynamic markets outside Europe and at the same time reduce the risks associated with international expansion.
Thanks to such tools, Slovak know-how, technology and entrepreneurial spirit can find new opportunities all over the world.
