A bilateral meeting between Eximbanka and the Austrian development and export credit agency Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG took place yesterday in Vienna. On behalf of Eximbanka the meeting was attended by Ing.Rastislav Podhorec, MBA, CEO of Eximbanka, Igor Barat, Deputy CEO of Eximbanka and Matúš Šársky, Director of International Relations of Eximbanka.
The main topic of the discussions was the perspectives of deepening cooperation in supporting entrepreneurs of both countries. Slovak and Austrian companies are not only business partners, but more and more often cooperate as suppliers in larger projects.
One pilot sector for coordinated support could be rail infrastructure. A concrete step will be to examine the possibility of organising a first joint presentation and matchmaking event for companies from both countries.
Eximbanka also presented its experience in the use of EU instruments, which it has thanks to the authorization for delegated management of EU resources (Pillar Assessment), and declared its readiness to cooperate in a consortium with other export credit agencies in support of larger cross-border projects using EU guarantees and grants.
The meeting was thematically in line with the current Slovak presidency in the Slavkov format (SK-CZ-AT), which Slovakia took over from 1 July 2025.
