On 6 June, a global meeting of Slovak Honorary Consuls took place in Trenčianske Teplice. Rastislav Podhorec, CEO of Eximbanka, and Matúš Šársky, Director of International Relations, attended the meeting on behalf of Eximbanka.
“The key factors for increasing the success of Slovak exporters in their efforts to break into foreign markets are good knowledge of the foreign market and a reliable local partner,” said Rastislav Podhorec in his speech during the panel dedicated to the cooperation of state and private actors (Eximbanka, SARIO, MZVEZ SR and RSE) for the promotion of Slovak exports.
Honorary consuls can be a good gateway to a new market for an exporter.
The network of honorary consuls also covers countries where Slovakia does not have a permanent representation at the level of an embassy or consulate.
Honorary Consuls are usually persons who are recognized and active in business and social life in the territory of their jurisdiction and have a number of contacts useful for a wider group of Slovak exporters.
