Rastislav Podhorec, CEO of Eximbanka and Matúš Šársky, Director of its International Relations welcomed the new Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Mels Erkinbek, at the Eximbank’s premises today, 10 December 2025.
The mutual discussion focused on the growing Slovak exports to Kyrgyzstan (from EUR 15 million in 2023 to EUR 80 million in 2024), the increasing interest of Slovak companies in the local market in the areas of pharmaceuticals, milk processing and medical IT, as well as the possibilities of involvement in strategic public procurement through the State Development Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
The close cooperation of Eximbanka with the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency in distributing project opportunities to Slovak exporters, the demand-driven operation of Eximbank and the priorities of the Kyrgyz government, especially the construction of hydropower plants, expansion of mining and modernization of infrastructure, were also highlighted.
