Ambassador of Japan to Slovakia Mr. Yasuhiro Kawakami was officially received today at Eximbank by the CEO of Eximbanka Ing.Rastislav Podhorec, MBA, and the Director of International Relations Matúš Šársky.
In this way, Eximbank is building on its recent series of meetings with bilateral partners directly in Japan in order to be consistent and systematic in its activities.
During the meeting, the CEO of Eximbanka informed the Japanese Ambassador about the portfolio of services offered by Eximbanka to support Slovak exports.
Eximbanka has the ambition to be a partner for potential Japanese investors who decide to do business and create jobs in the eastern part of Slovakia.
p. Yasuhiro Kawakami informed about his active communication with Japanese companies, for whom Eastern Slovakia is a promising territory for their investment plans – a wide catchment area for export to the V4 region + a safe and stable background for export to Ukraine.
Eximbanka is also ready to cooperate with Japanese partners in connection with investment activities of the new Japanese owners of the largest steel and metal processing plant in eastern Slovakia.
Risk sharing and co-financing of projects of common interest in Ukraine is also an active theme; prefabricated houses and affordable housing projects for internally displaced people in Ukraine may be a promising area.
Japan and Slovakia also share common interests in nuclear energy – both countries recognise the importance of nuclear in the quest to achieve the lowest possible carbon footprint in the energy mix.
