Eximbanka representatives(Ing.Rastislav Podhorec, MBA, Milan Horváth and Matúš Šársky) welcomed yesterday, March 10, 2026, the Brazilian Ambassador Gabriel Boffa Moreira and the First Secretary Carlos Guilhaume Sampaia Fernandes.
The meeting followed the intensification of bilateral relations, which was confirmed by the official visit of the Prime Minister to Brazil in December 2024.Eximbanka was part of a business delegation in São Paulo, where it had a bilateral meeting with the Agência Brasileira Gestora de Fundos Garantidores e Garantias (Brazilian Agency for the Administration of Guarantee Funds ) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the agency.
An important impetus for mutual trade is the EU-Mercosur Free Trade Agreement, which is currently in the process of ratification.
For Slovak exporters, the agreement will bring tariff reductions ranging from 14% to 35% in key segments, especially in the automotive and machinery industries. In this context, the meeting identified opportunities for future cooperation with the Brazilian Embassy in raising awareness of the benefits of this agreement among Slovak companies.
Brazil represents a market with high potential for Slovakia. In 2024, Slovak exports to Brazil reached a volume of approximately 232 million CZK. USD.
Eximbanka supported exports to Brazil worth EUR 65 million, mainly projects in the field of heavy engineering for the energy and petrochemical industries.
