Energy security and stability, but also new opportunities for Slovak companies – this was also the focus of the Bratislava U.S.-Slovak Workshop on Nuclear Project Development and Delivery (3-4 June 2026) , which focused on the preparation and implementation of nuclear projects, their financing, risk management, permitting processes and supply chain involvement.
Nuclear energy is a strategic issue for Slovakia. New nuclear sources can contribute to the nuclear safety of Slovakia, not only bring stable and low-emission energy, but also represent a significant boost for domestic industry, technical disciplines and Slovak exporters.
At Eximbank, we see this area mainly in terms of supporting Slovak companies – whether in identifying opportunities, engaging in international projects and tenders, or linking the business sector with relevant partners. Slovakia has a unique capability in the world, as our companies can handle all phases of the nuclear cycle – from research and construction, through modernisation to decommissioning processes.
We are part of the advisory groups under the auspices of the Slovak Government, which are working to ensure that the financial structure of investments in the Slovak nuclear power industry is set up in a sustainable way and using the capacities of the widest possible range of financial actors.
Eximbanka brings not only its expertise, based on many years of experience in financing and covering complex energy projects, but also a meticulously built relationship infrastructure with partner export credit agencies for their co-financing and hedging.
