Representatives of Eximbanka (Rastislav Podhorec and Matúš Šársky) were part of the delegation of Slovak Prime Minister Róbert Fico to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. This is in line with the strategy to create conditions for the expansion of Slovak exporters to priority territories in accordance with the Programme Declaration of the Government.
In the case of Uzbekistan, trade with Slovakia has increased multifold over the last period. Eximbanka is actively involved in supporting Slovak exports to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, mainly through financing and insurance.
In Uzbekistan, Eximbanka has entered into a new partnership with the state agency Uzbekinvest, whose strong added value is primarily in joint support of investment projects of Slovak companies in Uzbekistan and, last but not least, the exchange of information, which is crucial in the Central Asian region.
Eximbanka formalized its partnership with KazakhExport in autumn 2024.
Eximbanka has long drawn the attention of entrepreneurs to the potential of the Central Asian region.
Traditionally good trade and political relations, no divisive issues, unsaturated markets, linguistic proximity, a suitable alternative for the territories that Slovak exporters lost as a result of the conflict in Ukraine.
Eximbanka, the Slovak exporter and the Uzbek State Agency for Administration and Development of Road Infrastructure (Road Committee) have signed a tripartite agreement, which is an expression of commitment to finalize the contract for the project of supply and installation of an automated system for management and improvement of road traffic safety on key sections of Uzbekistan’s road infrastructure in the coming weeks.
This will be the first ever supported transaction in the form of a soft loan.
It is a unique combination of repayable credit resources of a commercial bank with Eximbanka’s insurance in the form of an export buyer credit with a grant component, which is allocated from the resources of the state budget.
Through the preferential export credit, Eximbanka supports not only the development of the recipient country, but also the Slovak exporter.
