On 28 May 2025, Eximbanka held a working meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the United States in Slovakia. Ambassador Gautam Rana, Economic Specialist Samuel Mišík and Head of Commercial Section Marián Volent were present on behalf of the USA. Eximbanka was represented by its CEO Rastislav Podhorec, deputies Igor Barát and Pavol Tavač, and Matúš Šársky, Director of International Relations.
Representatives of Eximbanka followed up on a constructive working meeting with the management of US Eximbank in Dubrovnik, Croatia, two weeks ago.
Eximbanka has a number of common themes with the representatives of the US Embassy and a mutual interest in deepening cooperation. Discussions touched upon the support of joint projects of American and Slovak companies in third countries, respectively in the USA and Slovakia.
Another topical issue was the prospects for American investment in the eastern part of Slovakia, which is a wide catchment area in terms of workforce, infrastructure and distribution networks. The east of Slovakia has the potential to be a strategic location for trade with Ukraine, and thanks to its pro-Western orientation, the importance of our eastern region will only grow.
Both sides of the meeting also declared their readiness to be an active part of the dialogue in relation to projects of Slovak strategic interest.
