Bilateral trade between Slovakia and Kyrgyzstan was almost 4 times higher

Rastislav Podhorec, CEO of Eximbanka and Matúš Šársky, Director of the International Relations Department of Eximbanka were on 24. and 25 April 2025 as part of the working trip of Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, accompanied by a business delegation to Kyrgyzstan.

The working trip took place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovak Interhelpo initiative, under which Czech-Slovak volunteers helped build industry in Kyrgyzstan in 1925.

Unfortunately, the Interhelpo initiative also had its shady sides, but after 100 years Slovak entrepreneurs are returning to Kyrgyzstan again and Eximbank is part of this story this time.

Slovak companies took advantage of the business mission and the potential of the country – in 2024, bilateral trade between Slovakia and Kyrgyzstan increased almost fourfold year-on-year, with Slovak companies taking several contracts and successful cooperation from Bishkek.

The prospective and growing importance of Central Asia is also confirmed by numerous trips of state representatives and business missions to the region

Eximbanka welcomes the growing interest of Slovak companies in this region and we are ready to support viable projects through our product portfolio.
