Eximbanka and EIB strengthen cooperation to support Slovak exporters

Representatives of Eximbanka (Rastislav Podhorec, Pavol Tavač, Igor Barát and Matúš Šársky) met with Robert de Groot, Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The discussion focused on deepening the existing cooperation between the EIB and Eximbanka and identifying new areas of common interest and scope for further cooperation.

The two institutions are already working together to support the internationalisation of European and Slovak exporters and to strengthen the resilience of the EU internal market.

A new dimension of cooperation with EIB Group is the forthcoming signing of a guarantee agreement between Eximbank and the European Investment Fund (EIF) in connection with the support of export transactions of Slovak exporters to Ukraine in the form of insurance of short-term export receivables and customer loans.

A separate topic is the strengthening of the EU defence area.

Eximbanka is a key player in supporting exporters from the defence industry.

Together with the EIB, commercial banks and institutional partners, Eximbanka is trying to identify solutions that would help to satisfactorily address the needs of this traditionally important sector for both Slovakia and the EU.
