The main message of yesterday’s “V4 Visegrad Group Summit 2025” held in Gdansk, Poland, and attended by Eximbanka representatives (Rastislav Podhorec, Eximbank´s CEO, Pavol Tavač, Eximbanka´s Deputy CEO and Michal Demák, Eximbanka´s Non-Tradable Risk Director) was the strategic cooperation of the V4 Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) in key areas shaping the future of the Visegrad region.
Representatives of ECAs discussed:
👉 The process of providing funding to support the transformation of the economy and society towards sustainable, green and low carbon practices.
👉 Developing supply chains through regional cooperation.
👉 Promoting nuclear energy at V4 level.
👉 The role of export promotion agencies in financing the defence sector.
The representative of Eximbanka was actively involved in the discussion on the support of the defence industry, as all export credit agencies from the V4 region agreed on the importance and necessity of supporting this sector, which plays a key role in ensuring the stability and security of our countries.
ECAs representatives agreed on a common approach within the EU Global Gateway Strategy towards the European Commission and the role of ECAs in the programme. They also agreed on a common approach to financing the construction of nuclear power plants in the region, as generation and supply capacities are limited as they will participate in the construction of nuclear power plants in each of the V4 countries.
The event under the auspices of the Polish Presidency was attended by: the Czech Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation EGAP, the Czech Export Bank CEB, the Polish Export Credit Agency KUKE, the Hungarian EXIMBANK, the Slovak EXIMBANKA SR and the Austrian Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG as an observer of the V4 Group and a regular participant in its meetings.
