In terms of revenue, it ranks among the forty largest companies in the metallurgy and metalworking sector, with roughly half of its revenue coming from foreign markets.

Precision steel, stainless steel, and bronze castings are used in the energy sector, renewable energy, healthcare, transportation, and food processing equipment. In addition to casting, the company machines finished parts, produces solders and non-ferrous metal alloys, and is also involved in recycling and trading in secondary raw materials. It was precisely this combination that helped the company weather the period when European industry slowed sharply.

Last year’s decline, caused by the slowdown in the German economy and U.S. tariffs, also affected Medeko Cast: several of its production facilities saw a significant drop in orders. Despite this, the company maintained revenue at 52.4 million euros and avoided a loss. On the contrary, it gained new customers, particularly in the energy sector and in the field of renewable energy sources, especially in Denmark, the Benelux countries, and other Western European nations.
New customers offset the decline in revenue, and the results were immediate—this year, the company’s EBITDA and net income are growing again. Metal recycling also played an important role in maintaining revenue. The division, which focuses on the purchase and processing of secondary raw materials, increased the volume of metals processed during this challenging period and was also aided by rising prices on the exchange.

A new facility for the production of precision castings, which Medeko Cast brought online in April 2023, helped the company secure new orders.
The investment, which the company estimated at 13.5 million euros, also included a fully automated coating plant and a drying facility for ceramic molds. It also involved extensive optimization of production processes. Automation and optimization have also had an impact on the number of employees: Medeko Cast currently employs 185 workers.

The company sees further growth in the aviation industry. Medeko Cast plans to invest in technology for the production of aviation parts and is already preparing prototypes of new parts for a world-renowned manufacturer of aircraft engines. It is also preparing to manufacture a part for a major European supplier of components for commercial aircraft.

Foreign markets are particularly crucial for the company. In 2025, exports to the European Union and countries outside the EU totaled roughly 27 million euros, accounting for approximately half of its revenue. The most important export markets are Denmark, the Benelux countries, and Western Europe, where the company primarily supplies precision castings and machined parts for the energy sector and renewable energy sources.

Medeko Cast was founded in 1994 by Pavol Demáček and his wife Antónia. Today, the company is led by their daughter, K. Lang, the executive director responsible for finance and human resources, and long-time company manager P. Huljak, who has been with the company since 2008.

Eximbanka is the partner for the “Exporter of the Year” category as part of the annual TREND TOP Awards.

Source: TREND.sk

Medeko Cast, s. r. o., based in Považská Bystrica, is a family-owned business that has been operating on the Slovak market for over thirty years.
