Eximbanka’s proposed budget for 2027 was approved by the Slovak government on October 5, 2026, and by the National Council’s Committee on Finance and the Budget on October 8. 10. 2026.

Eximbanka plans to achieve a profit after tax of 380,000 euros in 2027, representing a 2.7% increase compared to the expected results for 2026. Total assets from the banking and insurance portfolios are expected to increase by 19.4% year-over-year.

Eximbanka’s strategic direction for 2027 is based on the assumption of continued uncertainty in the global economy, a deteriorating geopolitical situation, rising commercial and political risks, disrupted supply chains, and a changing international trade environment. These factors negatively impact global trade dynamics, investment activity, and companies’ export performance, while simultaneously increasing the importance of government support for exports. Eximbanka will continue to fulfill its complementary role vis-à-vis the commercial financial sector by supporting export projects, in which the use of state support instruments significantly contributes to their successful implementation and the competitiveness of Slovak exporters.

Eximbanka’s main objective for 2027 is to continue intensifying its business activities related to supporting the exports of Slovak businesses, with an emphasis on the small and medium-sized enterprise sector. Our primary tasks will be to secure new business, increase our asset exposure, stabilize revenues, and diversify our client portfolio.

In 2027, we plan to support the exports of Slovak businesses through our banking and insurance activities, with a total volume of 2.13 billion euros, representing a year-over-year increase of 2.5%.

The focus of our banking activities will continue to be on direct loan financing and the provision of a wide range of guarantee products. Eximbanka’s budget projects that by the end of 2027, total asset exposure from loan financing and the provision of guarantees will reach nearly 932 million euros, which represents an increase of more than 5% compared to the expected figure for 2026.

In the area of insurance and reinsurance activities, Eximbanka will continue in 2027 to focus primarily on insuring short-term marketable risks, which are of primary interest to exporters. Another priority will be to significantly strengthen coverage of non-marketable risks in the area of medium- and long-term insurance. In the area of risk insurance, we plan to underwrite risks totaling 535 million euros in gross terms by the end of 2027, representing a year-over-year increase of 56%.

Eximbanka’s priority in terms of revenues and expenses for 2027 is to achieve a positive operating result that reflects the projected level of net revenues from business activities and the increase in operating expenses. The 2027 budget projects an operating profit before provisions and reserves of nearly 20 million euros.

The National Council of the Slovak Republic approved Eximbanka’s budget for 2026 today (October 14, 2026).
